Have you ever had one of those kind of unbelievable coincidences and wondered if there was “more to it” than mere coincidence? If so, it was probably a synchronicity!
The term synchronicity was coined by psychologist Carl Jung, who described it as “meaningful coincidences” that seem too perfect to be chance. Unlike random coincidences, synchronicities feel deeply personal, almost as if the Universe is orchestrating events just for you.
I love receiving and sharing daily synchronicities, they can make life seem magical!
Have you ever thought about someone, only to have them call or text you moments later? Or maybe you’ve been considering a big life decision, and suddenly, you keep seeing signs—repeating numbers, song lyrics with the exact message you needed, or a stranger saying something that confirms what you were feeling?
These moments aren’t just coincidences; they are Synchronicities—meaningful connections between events that seem random but are actually guided by something greater. They’re the Universe’s way of nudging you, confirming that you’re on the right path, strengthening your intuition, and letting you know you are heard!
Some common examples of synchronicity include:
Thinking of someone right before they reach out to you
Overhearing a conversation that answers a question you’ve been pondering
Running into the same phrase, symbol, or song over and over
Receiving an unexpected opportunity right when you need it
Seeing significant initials or dates on license plates
Seeing repeating numbers (1212, 444, 777) at key moments
The more you notice synchronicity in your life, the stronger your connection to your intuition becomes!
How Synchronicity & Intuition Work Together
Intuition is that inner knowing, the quiet voice that whispers truths before the logical mind catches up. Synchronicity acts as external validation of what your intuition is already sensing.
For example, let’s say you’re contemplating a career change. Your intuition is nudging you toward a new path, but doubt creeps in. Suddenly, you start seeing signs everywhere—an article about the career you’re considering, a stranger mentioning it in passing, or an old friend reaching out with an opportunity in that field.
These synchronicities aren’t coincidences; they are your guides, angels and the Universe aligning with your intuition to guide you forward.
Recently my daughter and I were driving in traffic and talking about a passed loved one. We came to a stoplight, and I looked up at the car in front of me. It was a work van and the initials of the loved one we were speaking of were in huge letters across the back of the van!! We both started laughing! Then, I glanced down at my car dashboard clock and it was 12:12, the birth date of the same loved one!
I LOVE these signs, and I have learned that the more we celebrate the synchronicities and signs the more we get them!
I’d love to hear of a favorite synchronicity you have experienced! Feel free to share with me in the comment sections below!
Alissa, I think you may know this one but I am not certain. A few years ago, my husband was kayaking in the far north and I was on my own for a few weeks. I thought that I’d clean out all the kitchen cupboards as a project. When I got to the tea cupboard, I started tossing tea bags…many of them well past their expiry date. (People give me tea but I usually stick to my favorites so the teas accumulate). When I was done, I had discarded a few hundred tea bags and wondered what I would do with my guests who liked peppermint or chamomile…I told myself I’d buy a small assortment. Within the hour, I went to get the mail and there was a small, cigar box-shaped package. I opened it and it was—an assortment of tea bags! Now the woman who had sent them did it to thank me for helping her with something in February. It was now July. What are the odds of that happening??? Now, “What are the odds?” is my favorite question. Many more things like this have happened. I think that synchronicity is a gift to me from the universe.
